    ANYA The most important thing to Anya is you leave class feeling connected to your heart and the island of Kauai. A classically trained ballet dancer from Russia and long-time yoga instructor, Anya relishes the balance that yoga brings to the mind and body. She enjoys helping people heal and release their pain. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Anya guides people from all paths to move in harmony with their bodies. She passionately believes in the abilities of yoga and nature to heal the body and to caress the spirit. Anya was inspired to teach after the birth of her daughter. Yin yoga helped Anya manage the pain post child birth from a hip injury that drugs could not heal. Yoga is more than movement – the mental journey is tightly woven with the physical. She delights in helping children and adult beginners discover yoga. Anya is blessed to share with others the gentle approach of yoga to life.

  • Yoko Fujiwara

    Island: Oahu

    Yoko Fujiwara started her yoga practice in 2003 while in the IT industry in her hometown of Tokyo, Japan. She has been teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2006 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her ongoing daily study is with Cathy Louise Broda and Glen Butcher of Purple Yoga Hawaii. Yoko underwent a sixteen-month Mysore apprenticeship as well as a nine-month pregnancy yoga apprenticeship with Cathy Louise. Her first trip to Mysore, India was in 2008. She spent three months practicing with R. Sharath Jois and Saraswathi Rangaswamy. During that time, she also studied Sanskrit and Yoga Sutra chanting under Dr. M. A. Jayashree. Yoko’s practice extends to annual visits to Maui to see Manju Jois and Nancy Gilgoff. Yoko has gone through many life changes since she started practicing yoga, and she is continuing to develop an understanding of who she really is. Yoko affirms that her practice has evolved primarily due to the process of deep self-reflection and actively changing patterns rooted in fear, anger and insecurity.

    Zeny’s heritage includes Indian Sikh and Filipino. She has been practicing yoga formally for 18 years, and teachings for 14. Zeny is a Bhakti and Hatha Yogini. Her classes are a rich blend of dynamic and creative vinyasa, soulful Mantra, inspiring Phlosophy and serene meditation. She teaches Mantra, Kirtan, Tantra, Tibetan Yantra Yoga, Universal Yoga, Classical Hatha, Aerial Yoga, SUP Yoga, Pilates and Vinyasa in the style of Shiva Rea. She has studied Yoga, Mantra and Tantra formally in India, and is devoted to the teachings of Russill Paul (Recorning artist and Nada Yoga Guru), Bhagavan Shanmukha Natha (Tantra Yoga) and Andrey Lappa (Tibetan Tantra and Universal Yoga). She inpires her students to cultivate and express their own authentic expression of Yoga through integration of spiritually exalting Mantra, body grounding asana, and Meditation. She is owner and Director of Hawaii School of Yoga, a 200 and 500 Hour Yoga School in Oahu. She has over 14 years experience teaching Yoga in various settings including College level, Gym, Studio, schools and private homes. In her free time Zeny can often be found singing mantras, on her piano, harmonium, ukelele or the shower.
