Whatever your level of Yoga, this 4-month course exploring the magic of Patanjali’s 8 Limbs and the mana’o of Hawaiian mystical traditions will deepen your embodiment, heighten your spirit, and encourage your big heart.
Hawai‘i Community College in Hilo is offering these teachings in a 2-credit course as a vehicle to empower and enchant us as we navigate mindfully through this precious life. Sharing the roots of the profound, beautiful Polynesian cosmology of Hawai‘i Island together with the vast, ancient practice of Yoga yields a unique approach to our diverse cultures and an uncommon harmony to the positive unfolding of our planet.”
During the spring 2019 semester, the classes will take place on Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. from January 7 to May 10. In each class students will experience a full-body workout suitable for both beginner and seasoned yogis while exploring the main Yoga paths, the sciences of Yoga (anatomy, neuroscience, and energy medicine), the arts of Chakra Healing, Yin and Restorative Yoga, and Mantra, Mudra, and Vinyasa sequences that awaken and soothe your three Souls. Through lucid Dream Yoga and Hawaiian meditations, we align ourselves with the well-being of all creation.
Like other indigenous lifestyle practices –T’ai Chi, Hula, and Sacred Dance — Yoga offers more than spiritual gymnastics. Yoga with Hawaiian Perspectives offers a philosophy for living well, loving wisely, and laying the foundations for a world of peace and prosperity.
